The JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series Second Chance class is for any racer that loses 1st round of eliminations, and it gives the kids a chance to keep racing during the day and hone their driving skills.  This year the championship was won by Noah Peyton, not the championship he started the year wanting to win but when life gives you lemons, you try to make lemonade.

Noah and his team had some struggles during the season with a blown motor and then buying a new car and working on the right setup for the new car.  During that time, he had some very close 1st round losses in the Jr. Lightning class which put him in the Second Chance class.  In the Second Chance class, Noah raced to 3 semi-final finishes and 2 wins helping him clinch the championship.  His highlight of the year was winning the 13-year-old NHRA Division 3 championship at the Division race at Wagler in September.

“This season we had ups and downs and that is part of racing, this championship means a lot to me, it is my first one ever at National Trail Raceway and winning a championship takes hard work and dedication and that’s what we did this year,” said a smiling Noah Peyton. “I want to thank my Dad (Richard) for all the patience and guidance he gives me, my Mom (Silvia) for all the great food we get to eat at the track, and Brother (Ben) for always rooting me on.  I also want to thank my sponsors Bazell Race Fuels (Brian Bazell), Chet’s Auto (Steve and Nick Brown), Rocket Track Glue (Brian Parish) and of course Peyton Racing.”

Next year Noah and the team plan to make a run at another championship at National Trail Raceway and do some more traveling where he can see some new tracks and make some new friendships.

Congrats to Noah Peyton the 2024 JEGS.com Jr. Dragster Series Second Chance Champion!
