This year the Super Shifters class was added as a regular class during the JEGS Wednesday Night Series.  The class is for manual transmission vehicles only and the gear bangers came out in force to compete for the 2021 championship.

When all the clutch dust settled it was Tim Porter from Newark and his ’70 Dodge Challenger that were perched at the top of the points standings.  Tim dominated the class this season by taking home wins at 4 out of 5 races.  Tim and his Rag Top Body Shop Challenger showed the other Super Shifters exactly what it takes to be a champion with good reaction times and consistent ETs all summer long as he clinched the championship.

“This year was a lot of fun, racing with friends is something I really enjoy and of course winning always makes that even more fun,” said a smiling Porter. “I want to thank my sponsor Rag Top Body Shop and of course my wife Carmen for everything she does for me.”

Next year Porter is planning on racing a little more and maybe even try his chances on the weekends of the JEGS ET Series.

Congrats to Tim Porter the 2021 JEGS Wednesday Night Series Super Shifters Champion.
