Submitted by jasonm on Mon, 01/31/2022 - 11:09 When talking about the Quick 16 powered by Performance Clinic Series one can’t help but mention the name Ryan Burba. Burba came into the 2021 season as the defending champion of the series, and this past season he had his hands full defending that title. Ryan started the season with some early round exits at the events on May 22nd and June 12th. However, the second half of the season was a completely different story. On July 24th, Ryan weaved his way through the Dragster side of the ladder to setup a monster match-up against his father Greg Burba, in the family Doorcar. Ryan was .017 total in that final round to take his first win of the season. The win moved Ryan to only 10 points behind Dwayane Gallolgy for the championship with only 1 more race to go in the championship. That final race was on September 25th, both Dwayne and Ryan got through the first and second round of eliminations, the remaining 4 drivers decided to finish the race on Sunday, September 26th. In the first pair it was Gallolgy vs Greg Burba, it was Greg taking the win. Ryan won his match-up which earned him 11 points leading to his second Quick 16 powered by Performance Clinic Series championship. “This year definitely had its ups and downs but to be able to win back-to-back championships means a lot to me. And to be able to race my dad in two finals this year shows that as a team we are some of the toughest out there,” said Burba. “I need to say a special thanks to my crew this year, my wife Emily, my father Greg, my mother Lisa, my grandparents Dave and Jacqui, and my biggest fan Ruckus. My sponsors helped make this championship possible, Performance Clinic Custom Engines, Bazell/Sunoco Race Fuels, Door Slammers 2 Racing App, The Southern Straw Food Truck, Dykes and Strippers Wiring, Fleet Graphics and White Crane Tattoo.” Next year Burba plans on racing as much as he can as he chases more win lights. Congrats to Ryan Burba the 2021 Quick 16 powered by Performance Clinic Series champion. Tags News Stories
