The JEGS.com Jr. Storm class is for kids aged 6 to 9 years old and features the youngest drivers in NHRA competition.  This season the Jr. Storm class saw six different winners over the course of the 13 race series.  The points championship came down to the final race of the season between second year racer, Camden Clark and rookie, Gracin Fields.  Once the points were tallied it was Camden Clark winning the Jr. Thunder championship.

Camden started the season on a hot streak doubling up and winning the opening weekend races, taking a decent lead in the points standings.  Over the next few races Camden was able to continue going rounds each week trying to keep his points lead. In July, Camden was able to make it to the semi-finals 3 races in a row stretching the lead at the top of the points standings sheet.  The August races saw Gracin Fields make up some ground in the points forcing a championship showdown on the final points weekend.  On Saturday, September 24th, Camden lost in the second round and Gracin went to the final round closing the gap at the top of the standings to only 10 points.  The championship came down to the final day of the season, with Camden leading by 10 points he scored a first-round victory to clinch the championship after Gracin bowed out in the first round.

“This season was awesome! I really like being able to race with my family and my friends.  Winning the championship makes me excited about racing and I can’t wait to get back to the track,” said a smiling Camden.  “I want to say a big thank you to my stepdad (Mitch), my mom (Amber), my sisters (Avery & Elayna), my grandparents (Mark & Melissa) and my Aunt (Grace) for all the love and support during the season.  I also want to say thank you to my sponsors, Lucas Oil, Mickey Thompson and Streamlight for their support this year.”

Camden capped off his championship season by winning the NHRA Division 3 Race of Champions at the Jr. ET Finals.  Camden plans on moving up next year to race in Thunder and is looking forward to this race season.

Congrats to Camden Clark the 2021 JEGS.com Jr. Storm Champion.
