National Trail Raceway

The Big Dawg class this year was dominated by Woody Kilgore.  Woody was the king of the class from the very first race in May to the final race in August.  The ’92 Dakota that Kilgore raced this season is one of the winningest vehicles in the history of National Trail Raceway and Woody added to its prestige this season.

The season started with a bang for Woody and his truck as he defeated family friend Mike Nutt at the first JEGS Wednesday Night Series event of the year.  Woody then went on a tear thru the competition as he racked up 3 more wins in a row.  Kilgore clinched the Big Dawg championship on August 4th as he defeated Mike Nutt once again in the final round.

“This season was a lot of fun as we got to bring the truck out on Wednesdays.  I was just hoping to get some seat time in the truck but after winning the first race, there was no way I wasn’t gonna chase the points and the championship,” said Woody. “I need to thank my parents Doc and Shelly Kilgore for letting me wheel the truck and of course my girl Courtnie, she is always there for me when we are racing.”

Woody is looking forward to next year as he wants to turn on some more win lights and enjoy the time spent with family and friends at the track.

Congrats to Woody Kilgore the 2021 JEGS Wednesday Night Series Big Dawg Champion!
