We go into our video archives to the 1988 NHRA Springnationals where John Force took on Ed “the Ace” McCulloch in the second round of Funny Car. An interesting fact is that McCulloch was tuned at that time by John Force’s future Co-Crew Chief Bernie Fedderly.
We go back to the 1987 Springnationals where local racer Jim Head takes on Tom Hoover in the 2nd round of Funny Car.
?? At the 1986 Springnationals, Connie Kalitta suffered a major explosion in Top Fuel qualifying. The explosion was so big that parts ended up landing near the stands and motorhome parking. Local fans took some of the parts home with them as a trophy.
?? This week we go back to the 1987 Springnationals. The matchup we have for you is Darrel Gwynn taking on the late Dick LaHaie in the semi-finals
We go back to 1988 and Ron Dudley’s funny car fire. This fire would go down in NHRA history as one of the biggest fires. Ron had to be airlifted after the fire to Columbus. He would eventually make a full recovery.
