This past season National Trail Raceway gave the ladies their very own class during the Wednesday Night Series, Speed Angels. This class was a bracket class designed to give ladies a chance to compete among each other and earn points towards a championship. Going into the final event of the season, two racers were leading the pack, Erica Green and June Suain.
That final night, it was in the semi-finals where Erica and June faced-off for a winner take all. When the smoke settled, it was June taking the round win and the first ever Speed Angels championship. June ended up driving her ’06 Mustang to the Winner’s Circle that night for her first win of the season. June ended the season with 1 win and 2 runner-up finishes during the summer.
“This championship means a lot to my husband and me. We raced at a lot of tracks this year and to be able to win the very first Speed Angels championship feels great. We had a lot of fun meeting new people and gaining new friends,” said June.
Next year Suain plans on defending her Speed Angels championship and race with the Horsepower Honeys.
Congrats to June Suain the 2019 Speed Angels champion!
