The King of Columbus is back! National Trail Raceway has brought back this historical event for the 2019 Season. The event will take place on Saturday, July 13th. The event will feature Roll Racing (Classes & Rules TBA), Drag Racing in Big Tire, Small Tire, Hard Tire, Outlaw Street Bike, Queen of Columbus, Open Comp and Grudge Racing. The event will also feature a True Street competition.
The event will kick off on Friday, July 12th with Parking, Tech, Grudge Racing and the John Holt Nitrous Shootout.
Saturday gates will open at 8 am with Roll Racing from 9 am to 12 pm. Time trials for Queen of Columbus and Open Comp will start at 1 pm. True Street will run at 2 pm. Eliminations will start 3 pm. Open Grudge racing will continue throughout the night between rounds of eliminations.
Rules and Payouts:
Big Tire: Must have Doors and Roof. 32 car field, .400 Pro Tree, No Time, 1/8th mile. Chip draw for all rounds of racing. $250 Buy-In, Winner $5000, R/U $2500, Semi-Finals $1250.
Small Tire: 28×10.5 no W tire and steel roof and quarter panels. 32 car field, .400 Pro Tree, No Time, 1/8th mile. Chip draw for all rounds of racing. $150 Buy-in, Winner $2500, R/U $1250, Semi-Finals $750.
Hard Tire: We will be using the Hard Tire Racing Association Rules with a small change. Tires 275/60/R15 or Smaller Hard Tire Only, BF Goodrich Radial T/A, UTQG (Treadwear) “400+” only. Any front suspension, any rear suspension, any engine/power adder. Ballast must be attached to the structure of the car. 32 car field, .400 Pro Tree, No Time, 1/8th mile. Chip draw for all rounds of racing. $100 Buy-In. Winner $1250, R/U $625, Semi-Finals $300.
Outlaw Street Bike: Must be a motorcycle, must have full leathers and helmet. No wheelie bars. 32 bike field, .400 Pro Tree, No Time, 1/8th mile. Chip draw for all rounds of racing. $100 Buy-In. Winner $1250. R/U $625, Semi-Finals $300.
Queen of Columbus: This is a Ladies Only class! This is a bracket class. No delay boxes or throttle stops allowed. No Dragsters, Roadsters or Motorcycles allowed. This event will also be a Horsepower Honey’s Points event. All run field, .500 Full Tree, Times Shown, 1/4 mile. Random Paring until down to 16 or less. $50 Tech Card. Winner $500, R/U $250, Semi-Finals $125.
Open Comp: Open Comp will use National Trail Raceway Open Comp Rules. No Delay Boxes or Throttle Stops, .500 Pro Tree, Dial-in/Index based on racer’s quickest time-trial run, the dial-in will be 1/10th faster than their quickest run in time-trials (ie. a racer runs 10.10, 10.15, 10.19 in time trials, the racer will be assigned the dial of 10.00 for the rest of the night.) Runs of 9.00 and quicker will not count and the run will go down as 28.00. NHRA Pro or Sportsman Rules apply. $50 Tech Card. Winner $500, R/U $250, Semi-Finals $125.
True Street: True Street Rules, Must Have Valid Driver’s License, Valid Tags, Valid Insurance. DOT Tires required. Be able to go on a 20 mile cruise. True Street Racers will make 3 runs back to back to back. Closest averaged ET that is not quicker than the following: 9.00, 10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00, and 15.00. Each class winner must fall within its respective ET category; example 9 second winner average must be between 9.00 to 9.99, 10 second winner average must be 10.00 to 10.99 and so on for each class winner, Etc. $50 Tech Card. Winner $100 to the Winner of Each Class!
Grudge Racing: Want to take your car down the track? Want to race your buddy? This is the class for you! This class will allow anyone to compete on the same track as some of the baddest racers in Ohio! .400 Pro Tree, No Time, 1/8th Mile. Racers that lose in eliminations can drop into the grudge racing class. $50 Tech Card.
Adult General Admission tickets are $20 at the gate, Kids 6-12 are $5 and Kids Under 6 are free!!
